The Gaelic Roots Series is sponsored by the Center for Irish Programs in collaboration with the Boston College Alumni Association. The series presents concerts, lectures, and performances based on Gaelic music and the dance traditions of Ireland, Scotland, and the United States. The Interim Director of the Gaelic Roots series is Sheila Falls Keohane.

Professor Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin presents Flowing Tides: History & Memory in an Irish Soundscape
Professor Ó hAllmhuráin is a leading authority on Irish traditional music. A cultural historian, anthropologist and ethnomusicologist, he holds All Ireland titles on concertina, uilleann pipes, and is a member of the Kilfenora Céilí Band. All are welcome to attend this Traditional Irish Céilí Dance in Gasson Hall at Boston College! Easy to perform social dances will be taught by Boston College dance instructor, Kieran Jordan, a renowed dancer in her own right. Come with or without a partner and no experience is ncessary! Live music will be performed by Sheila Falls Keohane with Irish Studies students and friends.

When seeking directions from GPS or Google Maps, please reference 2121 Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton, MA in order to locate the Cadigan Alumni Center building. Within the campus, turn left immediately after the second building (Cadigan Center). Make a quick right into the large parking lot in front of the Theology and Ministry Library. Free event parking is available directly in front of the Library. The auditorium entrance is on the ground floor. Cadigan Alumni Center
When seeking directions from GPS or Google Maps, please reference 2121 Commonwealth Avenue, Brighton, MA in order to locate the Cadigan Alumni Center building. After you enter the Brighton Campus from Commonwealth Avenue, the second left leads to a small parking lot in front of the Cadigan Alumni Center. Free event parking is available in the small lot and other adjacent areas.
The closest MBTA stop is Boston College station, the last stop on the “B" line.
